Studies have shown how fire damage to tiger landscape in the Russian Far East is a real cause of diminishing habitat, pushing the Amur Tiger and especially the leopard ever closer to extinction. This Tigris Project supported a five man firefighting team through the height of the fire season and extinguished 49 different fires in a variety of landscape during 2003.
