Tailor the Tiger: A Heart warming Tale of Resilience and Conservation Support

By 3rd January 2024Blog

At NaturZoo Rheine, Germany, a young tiger named “Tailor” has become a symbol of resilience and an ambassador for tiger conservation efforts. Born on December 5th, 2022, Tailor’s journey wasn’t without its challenges; he survived a veterinary emergency involving the amputation of part of his tail due to an injury. Despite the setback, Tailor’s spirit remained unwavering. His popularity soared, making him an influential ambassador for Sumatran tigers.

His captivating story led to NaturZoo Rheine branding plush tigers with Tailor’s name. The proceeds from the sale of these adorable plushies have helped generate €10,000 which were generously donated to WildCats Conservation Alliance. This money will help fund our vital conservation projects, including support for anti-poaching efforts and the safeguarding of tiger habitats.

Tailor’s popularity also inspired the creation of a special wine by the Meimberg winery, with proceeds dedicated to Sumatran tiger conservation. The wine, available at the ZooShop for €11.80 per bottle, offers an opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts to contribute to conservation while enjoying a vino.
