Thank you | Global Tiger Day 2018

By 2nd August 2018Blog
A special thank you to everyone who participated in Global Tiger Day 2018 festivities!

We’re delighted to have seen so many people doing their bit for wild tigers.  All over the world, tiger lovers and advocates joined together and we’d love to shine a spotlight on some super zoos and businesses who got involved!

Love as ever to our friends at Bennetts, coffee distributors who this year doubled their donation to wild tigers.  This wonderful company have been giving wild tigers a future for 13 years now, channelling over US$60,000 to the cause!   A special mention to the wonderful Wild Sumatra, who since 2010 has been helping responsible travellers discover the remote & mysterious, tiger inhabited landscape that is Kerinci Seblat National Park.

Wild Whimsy Woolies created a special character especially for Global Tiger Day and gave 25% of the profits from their sales were donated to our fund.

Our Esther sat on a Q&A Panel for the Zoological Society of East Anglia at Banham Zoo, which has pledged £25,000 towards our conservation fund to celebrate the zoo’s 50th anniversary. This year we were delighted to have been chosen to receive long-term substantial support from zoo and adventure parks; Chessington World of Adventures, Tayto Park and Drayton Manor!

We were delighted as ever to see a number of zoos using our posters and resources to run their own events and awareness on the day; the list is below but if we’ve accidentally missed you off, please let us know! (Some of our zoo supporters have tiger events coming up later this month so do keep an eye on their media.)

Following years of successful “onesie” walks, Dudley Zoo team came up with this awesome idea to have their tigers Daseep and Joao “design” their new marketing materials… if you’re off to visit Dudley, make a trip in to get your paws on some of these goodies!

A final mention to superhuman Tim Butler who has just completed his 26th  marathon WHILE JUGGLING (yes, you read that right!) for the benefit of wild tigers.  We don’t understand how he looks so fresh in these photos, but we’re so grateful to him for the tireless efforts for wild tigers.
